Site hosting and maintenance

Web design is only part of the service we offer you. We offer a full placement service, including logo design, assistance with choosing a domain name. We can maintain your site, or develop it in a number of different formats that will assist you with this task. It you do not have a preferred host, we are also happy to arrange for servers and database support.

Hosting and domain names

There is a very wide choice of hosting options: we are happy to create a website on your own servers, or work with the hosting company of your choice.

We won't pretend to host your site ourselves, but we will recommend trusted hosting providers (only those we'd use for our own sites), and we will do the hard work of registering the domain and setting up the hosting agreement so that you don't have to. Contact us for further information.

Site maintenance

When your site is to act as a focus of interest or activity for members, students or customers, it is important to work out at the outset how you are going to keep it interesting, informative and in date! Currently we can offer three basic options:

• A full maintenance package, where we will chase updates, and make sure your news and current affairs are up to date.
• A site designed to permit you to update your site using Macromedia's 'Contribute' package.
• We can also build sites around the Wiki template system, which offers web form based updates.

Please note that 'self update' systems are template driven, and do not offer the full flexibility of a professional maintenance service.

Finally - we have had an experimental Newsfeed in service for a year, and are currently developing a database feed for this service. This is designed to allow you to bulk load events through a web form, and have the site update your news pages and the 'feed at the appropriate times through the year.
