Online and Computer Assisted Education

Setting up effective online courses is not a simple case of transferring lecture notes into web format. If you are new to the field we can assist with our experience of setting up and running successful courses in chemistry. If you already have courses running, we can provide additional resources and material to match your requirements to improve these and keep them up to date.

Extended material for brighter students.

Distance learning - for students on placement, as a foundation course for mature and returning students, or to enable access from students in work or with family commitments*

The animation of a single photon above shows the electric vector rotating about the direction of propagation - it is chiral in the same sense that a spring is. Students often get confused with plane polarised light - which is actually two photons rotating with the opposite sense. This gives an impression of an electric vector that stays in the same orientation but has a sinusoidal variation in intensity with time (think about it!).

Material can be based on your lecture notes, or independently researched to match your requirements. We can integrate the material you have into WebCT and other course envelopes to provide synchronous and asynchronous student contact and centralised progress reports.
