High Resolution Interactive ImagesWe employ a vector graphic format (FLASH) - which offers unrivaled precision with minute file sizes! 2.51kB file This image is small enough to download very quickly, but you can also see the 'dark side' of the image (move your cursor over the shape to do this). In addition, the vector format allows you to zoom in and enhance the resolution! - Move your mouse cursor over the image and right click (Mac users - hold down the control key and click) to check this out. This is helpful for the visually impaired, but the high precision makes it invaluable for scale plans, sections, maps, technical diagrams and other illustrations. |
Using this format we can offer far superior graphic capabilities to the printed page, and enable viewers to zoom in to clear up any ambiguity in a diagram. Interactive deck plan of the SS ThesisMaking work more interesting is invaluable when you rely on public support for the work you are engaged in. The SS Thesis is an example of an iron built cargo vessel common in the late nineteenth century, sadly no examples are believed to survive, and the closure of the British yards that built them has made tracking records difficult. Over many years dedicated amateurs have come together to develop a deck plan to preserve a record of the vessel, and monitor deterioration. As part of the team we have contributed by making the plan interactive, and making it available on the web.
The images on this page show some simple techniques for engaging visitors with online materials. However, you can use them anywhere you have access to a web browser, conferences, lectures and even advertising stands! Finding your way about - mapping |
